I have 2 of these but that worked just fine. I think a low heat blow dryer would do the trick or even just sitting it out in the sun for a couple of hours.

Your cat will always drag some litter out with him/her after doing the 'business' and most of it is right outside the litter box. and most of that litter will just fall into the mat.
